この度、ifm ではベルリンを拠点に活動するクリエイティブ・デュオ BIEST( ビースト ) を招聘し彼らの新作である HABITAT を

大阪(10月13日・土: The Blend Inn)、

京都(10月19日・金: Froum Kyoto)、

東京(10月21日・日: gift_lab GARAGE)にて展示致します。

展示：12時〜19時、19時より、アーティストトーク開催決定！（日独逐次通訳）1000円（1ドリンク+ポストカードセット付）

ファッションを基軸に建築、舞台美術、映像、音楽など様々なジャンルを横断しながら、人と状況をシームレスに繋ぐ作品を企図、制作する彼らの最新作 HABITAT はボンディング素材の特徴と都市空間に住まうことの可能性への吟味が交差することで誕生しました。

2020 年にオリンピックを控え、これまでにも増して急速に変貌していく東京
長い歴史に基ずく伝統と新しい要素が常に入り交じることで日本を象徴する都市となった京都
近年はアジア圏の観光客から日本の玄関口として注目を集める大阪

一見華やかに見えるこれら国際都市の背後にはジェントリフィケーション、在日外国人やマイノ リティの人権、低賃金 – 肉体 – 日雇い労働者の高齢化という問題を抱えているという点においても先進的(後進的)であるといえるでしょう。
そして、AI や lot などが推進されていくデータ合理主義社会においてパブリックとパーソナルの境界は曖昧になりつつあり、利便性の高いボンディング素材のように柔らかく公権力とグローバル企業は人を包み込んでいくでしょう。
このような潮流の中でパーソナル・スペースを確保することは如何に可能でしょうか。

BIESTの活動コンセプトの一つには BAU= 建築があります。
これまでに発表された作品 IN TENT の問題を継承しながら、更にオルタナティブなケース・スタ ディとして都市に寄生すること、都市間を移動すること、衣服と建築のボーダーを更新することを目論んだ作品 HABITAT。

一時的ではあれ、都市に依拠 ( ハック ) しながら自律的なテリトリーを創造 ( 想像 ) したシチュアシオニストたちの思想や行動とも共振するかのようなこの作品や BIEST の活動を日本の主要都市で展示・紹介することは観る者に都市生活に対する新たな思考の萌芽を与えるものであると考えます。

なお、本展は各地で1日だけの開催となります。

I will exhibit their new work “HABITAT”in

BIEST is planning and producing works that seamlessly connect people and circumstances while crossing various genres such as architecture, stage art, video, music, based on fashion.

Their latest work “HABITAT” was born at the intersection of features of the material of bonding and consideration of the possibility of living in urban space.

Tokyo will change more rapidly than before for the Olympic in 2020.
Kyoto has become a city symbolizing Japan by constantly mixing traditional elements and new elements with a long history.
In late years, Osaka attracts attention as a Japanese doorway from an Asian tourist.
These international cities that look glamorous.
However, it can be said that it is advanced also in terms of having various problems behind.
・Gentrification
・Human rights of minorities and in foreigners Japan
・Low wage and day laborer aging ……
And,in the data rational society in which AI and lot etc. are promoted, the boundary between public and personal is becoming obscure.
Like the bonding suit which is a convenient and soft material,Public institutions and global enterprises gently detain people. How is it possible to secure a personal space in such a tide?

One activity concept of BIEST is “BAU = architecture”.

To parasitize in cities, to move between cities, to update clothing and architectural borders……
“HABITAT” was created as a new case study while inheriting the problem of “IN TENT” which was published so far.

Even if it is temporary, Situationists who created an autonomous territory while relying on the city.

“HABITAT” aimed at updating thinking and behavior of Situationist, and BIEST activities will be introduced in major cities in Japan will be very meaningful.
